The murderer who terrorized the San Francisco area in 1969 has finally been linked to the murder. He used to live several hundred miles away from the murder scene and was never once suspected.
Who Is Gary Poste? Zodiac Killer Identified
The Zodiac Killer of San Francisco has been identified as Gary Francis Poste. The investigators have connected him to five of the murder case.
However, Poste was never charged as a criminal. He was revealed as the serial killer on October 6, 2021.
There was a team of more than 40 detectives who were investigating the cold cases. He has been reportedly responsible for the murder in the SoCal city of Riverside.
One of the photos in Poste’s darkroom showed a scar on his forehead. This was a match with the sketch of the killer.
There was also other evidence that led detectives to Gary. The killing spree took place chronologically in Benicia, Vallejo, Napa County, and the San Francisco City.
Out of the innocents that were targeted by Gary, there were two who survived the attempted murder.
The case of Zodiac was marked as inactive by San Francisco Police Department in April 2004 but was reopened in 2007. However, the case remained open since 1969 by the California Department of Justice.

The obituary of Gary Poste was posted on 24th August 2018. It showed that Gary died at St. Joseph’s Medical Center on 23rd August.

The San Francisco killer was at the age of 80 when he passed away. He used to live in Sonora, California.
The name Zodiac Killer was used as a Pseudonym for the unknown serial killer who went rampant in Northern California. He came up with the name himself and mailed them to regional newspapers.
And whenever the letter was not printed, he would threaten killing and bombings. The letter contained riddles and codes. Two of his ciphers were deciphered and revealed that he was collecting victims as a slave for his afterlife.
